Q: As soon as I join the Exit Advisors Affiliate Program™, can I begin offering the Structured Sale annuity and earning the highest commission payout?
A: You can offer the Structured Sale annuity strategy to your clients any time you wish. SPI has two commission sharing schedules.
- Level 1: Referral commissions. Any licensed life producer can earn very attractive referral commissions on transactions that are referred to SPI and an annuity is funded. This level is available to any licensed life producer, with our without going through the training program.
- Level 2: Affiliate status. Affiliate status is gained by completing the approved training through The Settlement Institute and supplying SPI with the proper documents (life license, proof of E&O insurance, background check performed by SPI). After all requirements are fulfilled satisfactorily, (some affiliates have done so in just a few short days) SPI will activate your affiliate status and you can begin offering the strategy to your clients and be eligible for the highest commission payout (please contact SPI to learn of the commission schedule... you'll be surprised how high our affiliates are paid)
Q: How much does it cost to become an Exit Advisor Affiliate™?
A: Settlement Professionals Inc. does not charge anything to join our Affiliate program.
However, as was mentioned above, to provide a better service and higher commissions to our Affiliates we do require that Affiliates go through a training program in order to gain full benefits of the program.
As a pre-requisite to gaining "Affiliate Status" and earning the highest commission share, the following training course is approved by SPI to fulfill the training requirement.

We found this training course to decrease the learning curve for professional advisors on the topic and to be the most comprehensive on the topic anywhere.
Because of the advanced nature of the Structured Sale strategy, it would be irresponsible for SPI to not require training on the strategy prior to our partners advising their clients on the strategy.
In addition, by completing the training, Affiliates are much more knowledgeable on the strategy, its process, and tax/legal details. As a result, SPI can offer a higher commission share to our Affiliates because they require less "hand holding" on each transaction.
Q: Do I have to have a life insurance license in order to join the Exit Advisors Affiliate Program™?
A: Yes, you do. The Exit Advisors Affiliate Program™ through Settlement Professionals Inc. is strictly a program to enable licensed life insurance producers to add the Structured Sale annuity to their line of product offerings.
Life insurance regulations require that anyone who receives commissions from the placement of life insurance contracts (including annuities), hold a valid and current life insurance license in the state(s) they solicit business.
*NOTE: The Settlement Institute's training program is separate and not related to our program, other than the fact that we require our Affiliates to go through their training program prior to gaining affiliate status with SPI. The Settlement Institute wishes us to mention that there is NO REQUIREMENT for a life insurance license in order to join their Exit Advisor Training. It is open to all professional advisors who wish to learn about the Structured Sale annuity strategy in-depth.
Q: I know that as an Exit Advisor Affiliate™ I am eligible for earning attractive commissions on the Structured Sale annuity (Ensured Installment Sale™). Is this strategy competitive and is it easy to "sell" to my clients?
A: The Structured Sale annuity is a niche strategy that, in our opinion, should be on the list of strategies for all professional advisors. As on of our Affiliates has said, "It would be irresponsible not to at least give my clients this option".
However, just like with any strategy, the Structured Sale annuity (Ensured Installment Sale™) is not for everyone and should not be seen as a one size fits all solution. What SPI has found, is that around 10-20% of sellers will have goals that fit the Structured Sale annuity strategy. (i.e.- want a guaranteed stream of income, safety backed by a large life insurance company, capital gains tax deferral, a "for sure" thing... not just hopes that their investment will do well, etc.).
Of those 10-20% of sellers, a portion will choose to utilize the strategy, and a portion will choose to utilize other strategies.
Truly, what the Structured Sale annuity is perfect for is creating solid streams of tax deferred income. If the seller does not need the income and simply wants to have the funds grow in an investment account or stocks, the Structured Sale may not be the best option. However, if the seller needs a guaranteed base of income for a certain period of time... or for life, the Structured Sale usually beats out other methods.

Q: Why should I work with a structured annuity broker? Can't I just work directly with the life insurance company... especially if I'm already appointed with them?
A: At this point, both top rated life insurance companies offering the Structured Sale annuity strategy do not allow producers to work directly with them to place structured sale annuities.
These life companies have appointed a handful of structured annuity brokers around the U.S. who are certified and trained to offer these types of annuities. Producers who are already appointed with the insurance companies offering these annuities currently cannot work directly with the annuity issuer to place these annuities.
All structured sale annuities must be placed through a certified structured annuity broker such as Settlement Professionals Inc.
Q: Settlement Professionals Inc. is the only structured annuity broker requiring a training program; why should I work with Settlement Professionals Inc. instead of another structured annuity broker?
A: In the beginning we did not require our professional advisor partners to go through a training program. However, early on we discovered that to most professional advisors, structured annuities are completely new to them.
